This is an awesome simulation of Conway's Game of Life. This version lets you discover awesome patterns by selecting the starting cells. Also, you can choose preprogrammed starting formations that are known for their interesting lifecycle.
Generally speaking, the game works like this:
Any cell can either be alive or dead.
You select some cells from the board that should be alive or you can generate them randomly.
Next, you start the animation.
From generation to generation the living status of the cells on the board will change according to the following three rules.
1. Any living cell with two or three live neighbors survives.
2. Any dead cell with three live neighbors becomes a living cell.
3. All other living cells die in the next generation. Similarly, all other dead cells stay dead.
The above-mentioned rules will result in interesting patterns forming on the board depending on the starting formation.
